Anxiety

Anxiety is very common but more than just feeling stressed or worried. Anxiety disorders include Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, Specific Phobias and anxiety symtoms are present in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Talking therapies have shown to be very effective in helping people reduce, manage and overcome their anxiety symptoms.

Anxiety symptoms can include:

  • Excessive worry

  • Feeling edgy, restless or irritable

  • Tiring easily, or more fatigued than usual

  • Muscle aches, tension or soreness

  • Difficulties sleeping (falling asleep, staying asleep, restless during the night, unsatisfying sleep)

  • Sweating, nausea or diarrhoea 

  • Heart beating rapidly or pounding

  • Quick breathing, choking or smothering feeling

  • Tightness or pain in chest

  • When going out in public or leaving home
